How the Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board operates:
Eighteen Wood County citizens are appointed to the Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board. Ten members are appointed by the Wood County Commissioners, four by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and four by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services.
Board members are responsible to:
- determine and prioritize the county's behavioral health needs
- plan for cost-effective, high quality services to meet those needs
- contract with agencies to purchase high quality services and resources according to the Board's plan
- assure good stewardship of public funds via monitoring service provision
- evaluate quality and outcomes for system-wide quality improvement
