Supported Programs
Through a network of agencies, Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board provides support to families, adults and children. These services include the availability of transportation, housing, child-care, education and employment training that help to ensure both accessibility to treatment and support in achieving and maintaining recovery and improved quality-of-life. Prevention of substance abuse is also a high priority for WC ADAMHS Board. Services are targeted at youth and for adults that are identified through courts, agencies and other resources.

Arrowhead Behavioral Health is a private, caring, free-standing mental health treatment facility located in Maumee, OH. As a provider for behavioral health and substance abuse services in Northwest Ohio and Southeastern Michigan, we provide a continuum of care, support, and hope. Children’s Resource Center (CRC)

CRC is a private, non-profit community mental health center for children, adolescents, young adults and their families. CRC is in the process of trauma informed Sanctuary Certification. We offer a complete continuum of care through the following services:
Prevention – supporting the healthy development of children birth through 5 year of age, utilizing evidence-based practices such as Incredible Years and ACT/Parents Raising Safe Kids. We also provide Suicide Prevention activities in area schools using SOS (Signs of Suicide) curriculum.
Behavioral Health Counseling – provided by licensed mental health staff, providing an assessment and treatment plan to address the needs of youth at home, school and in the community. Evidence-based practices, such as, Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress are utilized.
Community Support – assisting children and families in their homes, schools and communities with mental health support, coordination of care and referrals to additional resources. Community support can also be provided at a higher intensive level.
Co-occurring Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services – providing a comprehensive approach for adolescents and young adults struggling with mental health and alcohol or drug abuse.
Youth and Young Adult Services – providing youth and young adults, aged 16 – 24 support in setting and reaching goals related to education, employment and housing.
Crisis Intervention – On-call therapists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for Wood county children, youth and their families in need of emergency mental health services.
Partial Hospitalization (Day Treatment as of 1/1/18) – offering children and adolescents opportunities to participate in a variety of group activities promoting safe decision making, social skills, problem solving, conflict resolution and positive coping strategies.
Residential Services – providing short-term care in a structured setting for children and adolescents whose behaviors may be a danger to themselves or others.
Psychiatric Services – providing psychiatric assessment and medication management for those youth in need of these services.

The Connection Center
The Connection Center is a community of people with shared mental and physical health and/or substance use disorder struggles working together to achieve their full potential. Through participation in The Connection Center, members are able to reclaim important life necessities integral to their identities that they may have lost due to their illness: mental and physical wellness, self-esteem, friendships, family, employment and education. They may also receive services and support that is individualized to their recovery, learn life skills and how to balance responsibilities and incorporate wellness activities into their lives.
Membership is free and open to adult residents of Wood County who are receiving mental health and/or Substance Use Disorder services.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment
Individuals receive a comprehensive mental health and addictive behavior assessment and from those results an individualized care plan is developed. The culturally diverse, professional treatment staff at Unison Health has significant expertise in the treatment of substance abuse and can offer dual diagnosis for mental health issues as well.
Outpatient Services
In addition to providing counseling for families, couples, and individuals, Unison Health also assists people with the management of their medications and their cases overall. Our licensed staff works with each client to determine the services that place him or her on the road to recovery.
Assertive Community Treatment
For people who struggle with a serious mental illness, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) provides an intensive approach to therapy that evidence shows has been highly effective in treating individuals who are at risk for decompensation. In Assertive Community Treatment, individuals who have previously experienced chronic homelessness, frequent hospitalizations and/or involvement in the criminal justice system are paired with a team of experts who are available at all times.
Group Services
Unison Health provides the people of Wood County with opportunities to engage in group settings, employing innovative approaches to therapy. The Dialectical Behavioral Skills Group empowers people to identify negative thought patters, and then take actions to change them. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages mindfulness as individuals seek actions that move them toward their personal values.
We offer grief counseling for people who have lost a loved one, as well as a Changing Families group aimed at helping children process divorce and other stressful situations. In addition, Unison Health facilitates anger management groups and batterer intervention groups aimed at preventing domestic violence.
