Updates from Wood County's ADAMHS Board
Meet the Staff
Kaylee Mohlman - AmeriCorps VISTA
This month, we are highlighting Kaylee Mohlman. Kaylee is currently working as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) with the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities and the Wood County ADAMHS Board. She is serving as the board's Programming and Marketing Assistant VISTA.
Kaylee is currently a student at Bowling Green State University studying Public and International Relations. She is graduating this upcoming spring 2021. During the spring of 2020, Kaylee served as the Marketing intern for NAMI Wood County. Kaylee explains that this role gave her the opportunity "to work in an important field that would make not only the county a better place as a whole, but also heavily benefit the lives of the individuals that live here." This led her to eventually take the AmeriCorps role with the Wood County ADAMHS Board to continue similar work in the Wood County community.
In her free time, Kaylee enjoys reading and writing. For self-care, Kaylee likes to take walks with her puppy. Kaylee believes that for self-care, it is important to take "some time everyday to do at least one thing that will make you happy."

SPERA means Hope!
The SPERA program at Unison Health uses an integrative approach to assist with increasing stability in the community. Our goal is to teach people to become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and body sensations to increase their coping skills. A Peer Support person is actively involved in this program to provide a lived experience to our group members.
SPERA is for individuals recently discharge from a hospital due to suicidal ideation, attempt, or mental health symptoms that are interfering with their daily life skills. This group is good for those at risk for hospitalization to help strengthen/re-enforce their positive coping skills and to provide them with additional support. Individuals seeking mindfulness techniques to assist with increased mental health symptoms can benefit as well.
Free Survivors of Suicide Support Groups are available in Wood County!
Unison is hosting Free Survivors of Suicide Support Groups. It can be healing to talk openly with fellow suicide loss survivors about what you are going through. The group meets at 7 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. All are welcome to attend at 1011 Sandusky Road, Suite C, Perrysburg, Ohio.
For more information about SPERA or the Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group, please call (419) 352-4624.
