
NAMI Basics
NAMI Basics is an educational program for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illnesses. It covers the fundamentals of caring for yourself, your family, and your child.
At the same time and place as NAMI Basics, NAMI will also be providing the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) for Kids and NAMI Kidshop. WRAP for Kids is for children who live with a mental health condition, whereas NAMI Kidshop is for children that have a loved one who lives with a mental health condition.

NAMI - WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) Workshop
The Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Workshop is free of charge, a self-designed, course on identifying your personal wellness tools. WRAP was developed by Mary Ann Copeland. Your WRAP program is designed by you in practical, day-to-day terms, and holds the key to getting and staying well. It does not necessarily replace traditional treatments, but can be used as a complement to any other treatment options you have chosen.

NAMI Motivational Interview (Basics) Training
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. It is designed to strengthen personal motivation for and commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person’s own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.

NAMI Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. In this 1.5 hour training, participants will learn how to recognize suicide warning signs and how to respond if these signs are present, how to ask someone about the presence of suicidal thoughts and/or feelings and how to offer hope. In addition, participants will gain information about resources in the community and how to refer individuals to those resources.

BG Boom Festival
The 4th annual BG BOOM Festival and Fireworks will take place July 3rd, 2025, at the Wood County Fairgrounds. The Festival runs 4:00 - 9:00 PM and the Fireworks are launched at dusk. Admission is free, stop out to enjoy games, inflatables, food trucks, and live music!
